IDF 2014 wonders: Dell Venue 8 7000, MICA and more

It has become a bit of a tradition to share my favorite event photos here. I have done this with CES and MWC this year, and I just got to cover IDF 2014 for MobileGeeks.com. Though IDF (Intel Developer Forum) is a much smaller event, I believe my product shots have been getting much better.

I came out of the Moscone Center with a great gallery, so I wanted to share it with you. The photo above is of what has probably become my very favorite tablet. It went a bit under the radar, as it was announced the same week as Apple’s iPhone 6, the Apple Watch, Motorola’s new devices and IDF.

Intel is committed to finally enter the Android market, and this tablet is testament that they have the ability. It runs a 2K 2560x1600p display, which that Intel Atom Z3500 handles it like a boss. Let’s go back to the most important part, though (at least for photographers). The tablet is the thinnest in the world at 6mm of thickness, and it looks amazingly sexy!

It’s also interesting to see the back, which actually has 3 cameras. Much like the HTC One M8, this device uses multiple cameras to collect depth information. You can learn more about the device in the Mobile Geeks hands-on coverage. I just wanted to point it out because it makes for some interesting photos.

Another device we got to play around with was the MICA, possibly the first smartwatch focused on fashion. It looks like a luxurious bracelet, made with leather, stones, plastic and metal. As you can see in the images below, it certainly manages to look great with your outfit. I was actually surprised about how good it looks, because it does happen to be a bit large.

Please do go ahead and let me know what you think of these. Got any tips for improving them?
